Bidford on Avon Tennis Club

Grant for tennis practice equipment

The Tennis Club applied in 2022 for a battery powered ball machine and storage for equipment. The focus of the request was to provide up to date practice equipment to benefit and encourage the young players. The Perkins Trust was delighted to be able to provide a grant to enable the purchase to go ahead. Volunteers in the club built a new storage shed and cleared space for safe storage of the ball launcher and charging point.

After completion, the club installed a plaque formally recognising the contribution made by the Trust.

Bidford on Avon Church of England Primary School

Grant for Outdoor Activity Area

A project to install an Early Years outdoor activity area was planned in 2018. The school had covered over a third of the total cost through fund raising and the Perkins Trust was delighted to be able to provide a grant to enable the work to go ahead.

After completion, the school invited Governors of the Trust, along with local press, to an opening ceremony.

PhD Student

Undergraduate, Masters & PhD grant funding

Having now received this grant on several occasions, I know just how invaluable it can be in helping to improve and further the opportunities a student has to study and gain higher qualifications. The Perkins Foundation not only helped me to gain my undergraduate and masters’ degrees, but also to thrive in my first year of my PhD, gaining necessary access to resources during a difficult financial year throughout the pandemic. I am certain that without the foundation’s help over the past few years that I would not have been able to take hold of the opportunities that have been presented to me, nor push myself to thrive in these academic environments with some of the brightest students and world-renowned academics. These grants are hugely beneficial, and if I am fortunate enough to receive one again, I will ensure that it promotes my studies during the most important year of my academic career to date and continue to best represent the foundation as best I can.

I am certain that without the foundation’s help over the past few years that I would not have been able to take hold of the opportunities that have been presented to me
